Bright OakBehavioral Health
Robin Schelling, BCBA · California's Central Coast

Where growth
takes root.

A small, private behavior analysis practice for families on California's Central Coast. In-home sessions with your child, thoughtful coaching for you, and the kind of attention that only comes from a caseload of people — not numbers.

I opened Bright Oak because I wanted to work with families in a way the bigger agencies couldn't — fewer caseloads, more time in your actual home, and a pace that matches your child.

The way we work

A quieter kind
of ABA.

Modern, assent-based behavior analysis — rooted in relationship, respectful of how your child already moves through the world.

01

Relationship before protocol

Before a single goal is written, we spend time together. Your child has to actually like me, and I have to actually know them.

02

Assent-based, always

If a child is saying no — with words, with their body, with a turned shoulder — I listen. Progress built on coercion is not progress I'm interested in.

03

Neurodiversity-affirming

The goal is never a neurotypical child. The goal is a child who is understood, regulated, and growing in the directions that matter to their family.

04

Family as the center

You are the experts on your child. My job is to hand you tools, not to hold them for you.

Service area

From Paso to Nipomo,
with miles to spare.

Robin drives. In-home sessions happen wherever your kitchen table is. When the week won't allow a visit, telehealth picks up the slack.

A first conversation

Tell me about
your child.

A no-pressure note — or a 30-minute phone call — is the way every family here starts. I read everything that comes through personally.
